BB gun possession leads to arrest of local man

By Robert Fucci

A call to the Millbury Police Department on Friday, Dec. 30, regarding a local man who brandished a BB gun resulted in the arrest of that man and the man who called in the complaint.

According to Millbury police, the call came in at 8:39 p.m. from Dunkin Donuts.

After responding officers completed an investigation, Jeffrey Granville, 18, of 15 Curve St., Millbury, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to Lt. Regina Rush- Kittle, Granville allegedly lifted his shirt which showed a BB gun during a verbal confrontation with Millbury resident Paul Courtney.

“He was arrested on the actions of displaying it,” Rush-Kittle said, adding the BB gun looked like a replica of a real gun. “The BB gun was in his waist band, he made a statement, lifted his shirt, and the other party called.”

During the investigation, police found a warrant out for Courtney, 18, who lives at 46 Oak Pond Ave., Millbury. The warrant was for making threats, Rush-Kittle said.

Other recent arrests made by Millbury police include:

• Sunday, Jan. 1, Mohamednoor I. Mohamed, 19, of 248 Constitution Ave., Worcester, breaking and entering for a misdemeanor;

• Sunday, Jan. 1, Abdiwahab Y. Abdullahi, 20, of 50 Everett Gaylord, Apt. 11, Worcester, breaking and entering for a misdemeanor.
