A&B call leads to arrest of Sutton man

A call to the Sutton Police Department on Sunday, Jan. 1, regarding an alleged assault and battery case resulted in the arrest of a Sutton resident.

According to Sutton police, the call came in at 4:48 p.m. from a Lackey Road residence.

After responding officers completed an investigation, Benjamin C. Davis, 34, of 129 Burbank Road, was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and was kept in protective custody.

He was scheduled for arraignment at Uxbridge District Court.

Sutton police also issued a summons to appear in court for a Swansea woman who was pulled over on Worcester Providence Turnpike on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

Melanie J. Smith, 43, of 1305 Wilbur Ave., was scheduled to appear in Uxbridge District Court to answer charges of motor vehicle lights violation, expired inspection sticker and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
